Paul Barber & Friends Bio

Paul Barber & Friends

Paul Barber & Friends is a five-member studio collective bringing together accomplished session musicians from around the world to create exceptional R&B, Soul, Jazz, and contemporary Urban music recordings.

Founded and led by Paul Barber, a keyboardist, drummer, and mix engineer based in Japan, the group was created with one primary goal: to make great records. Rather than focusing on live performances, Paul Barber & Friends is dedicated entirely to the studio—developing songs, performances, arrangements, production, and mixes with the highest level of musical and sonic quality.

The collective features Mika Jeffries, a versatile female vocalist based in New York City; DeAndre Keyz, a male vocalist from New York City; Mike Rodriguez, an accomplished saxophonist based in Costa Rica who performs on both alto and tenor saxophones; and Chris Robinson, a talented guitarist based in Miami, Florida. At the center of the project is founder Paul Barber, who contributes keyboards, drums, production, and mixing.

Although the members are separated geographically, their extensive experience as studio session players brings them together through a shared understanding of musicianship, groove, creativity, and professional recording.

Paul Barber & Friends represents a modern approach to making music—bringing together musicians from different parts of the world and combining their individual talents to create polished, emotionally engaging studio recordings.

No stage. No limits. Just great musicians making great records.
